Fit True’s Two Main Points

Fit True’s Two Main Points

This blog was started to help take the mystery and sales hype out of personal training and the fitness industry. Somewhere along the line of history the general public lost it’s innate sense of what it means to be healthy.

How much are you willing to bet that our ancestors were overall more healthy as smokers than we are today as non-smokers simply because they had the common sense to get some fresh air on a regular basis while we sit in cubicles and indoors almost ALL OF THE TIME? Fit True is obviously not advocating smoking for better healthy.

Come on, all you trainers out there, how many of your clients, when you first meet them, aren’t even eating three meals a day? A thing that even one generation back wouldn’t think of doing. “Generation” here means everyone alive at the moment. They just knew better than we did.

Well these two main points will counteract a great deal of the misinformation that is so prevalent today:

THE BODY IS AN ADAPTIVE ORGANISM. It adapts and adjusts to its environment. But let’s be direct. WE HAVE A LOT OF CONTROL OVER THOSE ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCES. How much exercise we get. How much fresh air we get. The quality of sleep we get. The food WE BUY AND PUT IN OUR MOUTHS. Whatever excuse you have for not taking control of those issues envision yourself telling them to an earlier generation and then decide if its valid.

THE BODY THRIVES ON VARIETY. Trainers talk about “muscle confusion.” That’s true, but it isn’t just the muscles that need the variety. We also, nutritionally need it. So since we need it for strength, endurance, and tone; and we also need it nutritionally then why don’t we just start demystifying fitness with words like “muscle confusion” and start teaching folks that the body thrives on variety?

That’s why 99% of the gimmicks and gadgets sell because they INITIALLY have a huge impact on the body. The sales guys count on you not holding in mind the two truths that THE BODY IS AN ADAPTIVE ORGANISM and THE BODY THRIVES ON VARIETY. Keep that at the forefront and you’ll be snookered a whole lot less. You might even grow some of your own creativity and solve some of your fitness deficiencies yourself. WWGGD.
