Illness LOVES junk food. Keep your nutrition standards, if anything, higher than normal. The holidays is when people start thinking about loosening up their nutrition. Why in the world is that a good idea when your activity level is lower anyway? It isn’t a good idea it’s an easy idea.

What follows is how I keep myself healthy (besides regular exercise, good nutrition, and plenty of rest) during the cold and flu season. Some of the recommendations may seem old fashioned. Think of them as tried and true. Others may seem a little controversial or extreme. But all I ask is that you keep an open mind, do your own research, and, if your comfortable, give them a try.

Strong neck muscles should not be overlooked even after they have strengthened enough to do the simple work of supporting the heads. Having the surrounding muscle groups of the neck strengthened beyond that minimal level can literally help save your life.

Our clients aren’t paying us to be sensitive to their feelings. They can get a counselor for that. They are paying us for results. So, back in the day, when I was in the gyms, and afterwards when I was training clients in their homes, they would learn pretty quickly that I’ll get around to asking each time we meet about their compliance with nutrition.
