The Dumbest Whole Body Workout Ever

The Dumbest Whole Body Workout Ever

The Dumbest Whole Body Workout Ever.
I say “Dumbest” because it’s hard. Not because it’s really dumb.

Goal:

Perform a whole body workout incorporating resistance training and cardio. This is a great transitional workout or general conditioning workout. I posted a version of this back in April, but some folks have been asking me about conditioning and anatomical adaptation for athletes recently so here it is again.

Time:

45 minute or 35 if you knock off the last 10 Min HIIT.

The Workout:

- Complex – 1 X 10
o Dead Lift
o High Pull
o RDL
o Power Clean
o Military Press
o Squat
o Push Press
Here’s what this complex looks like:

- 10 Min HIIT
HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. Basically using what ever form of cardio you prefer and 60 seconds you move between a slower/moderate pace to a more difficult/strenuous pace. So on a treadmill that might look like an easy jog to sprint to easy jog or a fast walk to a run to a fast walk. Whatever poison you pick, just keep changing the pace every minute for ten minutes.

- 1 Minute Drill
o Push-ups
o Sit-ups
o Pull-ups
o Dips

Here’s what I call the “1 Minute Drill” looks like and where I got it from:

That’s Nate Green, by the way, and you can check out his website here.

- Repeat the 10 Min HIIT

- Barbell Circuit – 1 X 10
o Bent over rows
o RDLs
o Squat
o Floor Press (Bench Press performed on the floor)
o Standing Calf Raises
o Military Press
o Bicep Curls
o Close grip push-ups

- Finish with the 10 Min HIIT

It takes a fair amount of athleticism, conditioning, and muscle endurance to get through this workout. So if you can’t do it get yourself built up until you can. Who are the athletes in your life that need an off season conditioning program or the fitness freak who’s always looking for another challenge? Pass this workout on to them and show them where you got it.

After you’ve done it (or tried it) post your comments below. Thanks.
