About

Fit True is a fitness blog and resource center to provide its viewers with no nonsense information to help them reach their fitness goals.

There is an epidemic in the fitness industry of misinformation. In 2008 alone (that was the year the housing bubble burst in case you forgot) the fitness industry was a 19 billion (that’s billion with a “B”) dollar industry. As a friend of Fit True once said, “I’ve never seen a big pile of money without an illegal act nearby.” That 19 billion dollars is part of what drives a great deal of the misinformation. It produces sales gimmicks, hype, and sells people a whole bunch of pipe dreams.

The Fit True mission is to help people wade through all of the fitness garbage and fluff so they can reach their fitness goals.

Who is Fit True? Tim Peirce is the driving force behind the ideas, the blog posts, the Fit True Facebook Page, and Fitness Program Designer. Matt Houle is the designer of the Fit True site and handles some of the tech heavy stuff.

Tim started Fit True as a blog for his clients, friends and questioning fitness enthusiasts. He wanted them to have access to sound fitness information without getting tied up in all of the hype around the industry. Tim has been a Certified Personal Trainer since 2001 (NFPT Certification # 15725) and has worked with clients in gyms, privately at their homes, and now spends his time exclusively writing Customized Fitness Programs for people all over the country. He’s also is author of the Fit True Nutrition Plan as well as an Exercise and Food Journal.

Tim and Matt met at a business networking meeting where Matt told Tim, “The content of your blog posts are good, but the site itself sucks.” Matt took over the look of the Fit True blog and created the fantastic site your on right now. You can see more of Matt’s website design handiwork here.

I’m all about people taking responsibility for their own lives. So the concept that the state should set up programs and take the responsibility from the parents and the kids themselves is a recipe for getting fatter. Whatever state programs exist probably are inaccurate and ineffective. Parents and kids take responsibility yourselves and gain the victory. Don’t count on the state!
