Visual learning is one way that many people learn. It’s not exclusive to men and gym rats. In fact, even though it maybe out of their general learning box, many women practice visual learning in the gym. Sports, athletics, and the gym are extremely visual events so it just makes sense that that’s how most folks, guys and gals, learn.
Periodization is the progressive varying of training to achieve peak performance at the desired time. Progressive varying means incorporating less preferred forms of training in a systematic way to improve the desired form of training. That means endurance athletes do real strength training and vise versa. And not just haphazardly. It’s systematic. So lineman do some muscle endurance and cardio work while basketball players do some strength and explosive power training.
